Small Scale Aquaponics is another subsidiary of Enterprise Aquatics llc. We know you're probably wondering what "aquaponics" is to begin with. Aquaponics is basically a self-sustaining ecosystem that happens through the following processes:
How it works ?
1. Fish provide rich waste to supply plants with biologically available nutrients.
2. Plants in turn filter the water, which provides protection from a buildup of toxic levels of nutrients.
3. A harvest of fresh vegetables and fish are produced.
As you can see, there is a tub of water that houses the fish. Attached is the filtration system which relays the water and nutrients to the plants, which in turn provide the fish with filtered water.
For over 1,000 years aquaponics has been practiced in a roundabout manner in the Asian rice fields and in the Chinampas of South America. In recent years, small farmers, gardeners, and aquaculturists have rediscovered this approach to raising mutually beneficial crops together.
SSA has designed an aquaponics system that has the most advanced filtration and efficiency. We provide professional aquaponics & hydroponic systems in a scalable format.
We are actually growing the crops pictured below in our warehouse system (sweet basil & broccoli in our bucket system, and lettuce in our raft system), which shows the versatility in crops that you can produce with aquaponics.
