Our AP-1 and AP-2 school aquaponic systems are perfect for STEM, and Agriscience teachers to incorporate into the classroom.
Students and teachers alike enjoy the synergy of aquaponics as well as the supporting science behind it. Agriscience students learn about the fastest-growing sector of agriculture. Students that are in STEM find an innovation that makes agriculture and all of the science involved appealing to them as a potential career option. It creates enthusiasm for learning in the classroom for applied sciences and removes barriers to learning and career option considerations as well.
Storms and power outages happen. Our battery backup aeration provides 8 hours of protection to keep oxygen levels in place for fish.
Our LED lights really grow vegetables and are efficient at producing light without producing excessive heat.
Fish require filtration to maintain their health and quality of life by providing the ability to maintain water quality. This also provides a means of capturing and removing solids waste with a minimal amount of water loss.
The AP systems stands provide a comfortable working level for plant production and enough height to allow the fish culture tank to be installed below. Fish are comfortable and the systems have a compact footprint.
We provide a standard operating procedure (SOP) with each system and monthly opportunities to meet with us via video call as well as other educators. We offer the option to train at our facility in Marrero, LA, The Urban Aquafarm & Training Center (UATC). These trainings are substantive and hands-on, providing you with the skills you need to get started on the aquaponics teaching journey. Training really helps reduce stress as you navigate a new sector of agriculture and allow you to enjoy the process.
